Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Drane62 6/26/2026

Dryer lasted four years and started thumping. We had "golden" warranty but instead of fixing it they gave us credit for a new dryer. Still had to shell out a couple of hundred bucks to get whole on a new dryer and new warranty (thankfully with a different warranty company). Not very impressed.

1234JFB 5/19/2026

Do not recommend. Thought the interior light was a great function, however, drawstrings get caught on it all the time and after two weeks it no longer worked. Drawstrings also get caught and melt. All of my pants with drawstrings had to be tied before they were put in the dryer. Additionally, within two years, the motor went out. Do not recommend.

Works great, but can potentially have issues early

Doritos410 4/9/2026

Bought one of these dryers in June 2023 and it has worked great. However, less than 3 years later, a critical wire component to the heating element has fried, requiring replacement. Recommendation was to replace the wire and heating element at about 60-70% cost of the dryer itself. Band aid fix cost about 1/3 the price of the dryer. The dryer works great, just may not last long before you need to make repairs/replace it.

Purple wire issue (Known issue)

Homs1234 12/2/2025

The dryer stop heating after 3 years. The issue is the common "Purple wire of death" that got burnt which is connected to the heating element (Google it, it is a common issue with these dryers). It is insane to me that they sell this product with this known and dangerous issue. Now I will buy a new dryer from a different brand since the repair kit they sell can have the same dangerous issue. I would recommend people to change the appliance brand from now on.

This dryer has been the biggest headache, I wish I had never purchased it. The center knob broke only 6 months after I bought it. Knob was on backorder but I finally got a replacement then exactly a year later same knob breaks again. Knob still on backorder, keep getting lied to Everytime I call GE to get another knob. Tired of having to use a pair of pliers to turn on my basically new dryer.

Lasted for 10 years before it gave up the goat, and that's in a family household. So there was a lot of laundry. My extended family used it quite a bit as well, and hey, the washer, it's still going a year longer. It's on its last leg, but it's still going. So all in all a good set for today's standards.

Two Weeks Notice

BS1218 8/7/2025

I got this dryer TWO WEEKS ago. I put a load in and went to bed. It never shut off. I woke up to it running. The clothes were tumbling but they weren't warm. I thought maybe the heating element sensed it wasnt shutting off and it turned itself off. I put in a load of towels and nope, won't dry. TWO WEEKS I have had this dryer. Home Depot and Lowes only gives refunds before 72 hours. Also, can we talk about how annoying the buzzer is when it goes off!?

Stopped heating after 15 months

ConsumerReptr 7/29/2025

We are a home with just two adults and this dryer (installed in Feb. 2024) stopped heating last week after only 15 months of use. Repair tech found that a ™€œWire to the heating element had burnt off and cut off power to the element.™€ Out of warranty repair cost (service call, parts and labor): $250. (Rating reflects expensive failure after minimal time in use. Otherwise, it's a perfectly fine dryer.)

Better than my expensive front loader

Ang00 7/28/2025

After using an expensive front loader, this is much better!! The settings are straightforward with no unnecessary buttons, settings, etc. I appreciate how the cottons and casuals settings slowly cool down before ending, this allows my cotton clothing to actually sit in the dryer until I am able to unload them without becoming wrinkled!! This has been a major win at my house!!! My front loader didn™€™t do this!

3 years and a month old, the purple wire to the heating element literally melted down (a common problem, just Google it!) causing the dry to quit heating. The terminal is half way melted off from the heating element so the element now has to be replaced along with the melted wire.

Failed multiple times™€¦ and counting

Failed multiple times 6/15/2025

This is the worst dryer I have ever owned. Less than a year old and I am waiting on the 4th repair. Problems started about 6 months after purchase. Thermostat sensor failed multiple times after repair. It wouldn™€™t start. Had to take laundry to laundromat for weeks waiting on repair. Now, the drum spins but no heat. Breaker is fine. Another failure for a totally defective product. Stay away from this product. Avoid this model, if not GE entirely

NathanTR 6/3/2025

We purchased one of these dryers under 2 years ago, and the dryer is now completely broken and defective. An element wire burned itself out two times, the second time of which ruined the machine. GE reps were unable or unwilling to help since this occurred narrowly outside of the 1-year manufacturer warranty. Our dryer tech suggested Whirlpool or Maytag, and to generally avoid GE models at all costs based on excessive issues they see with GE products across the board. UPDATE: GE has responded to this comment implying this has been resolved by speaking with an agent, but all the agent did is ask that we sign up for a loyalty program to buy another dryer. They did not provide any kind of reimbursement, replacement, or other real rectification of the issue despite the dryer going kaput within 2 years.

GE Dryer quit heating after 18 mo!! Heat Element!

BT OMA 6/2/2025

Our GE Dryer quit heating after 18 months. we had the Bodwell (GE) technician come out to inspect the dryer and he said it was the burnt out wires on the heating element. The cost to replace the heater and the purple wire service would be $511.01, less the cost of that days service call for $123.00 that I paid for the day he came out to look at the dryer. We are quite disappointed that it will cost more to repair our GE dryer, and by looking at a few reviews, we are not sure how long the new heating element and purple wire will last, unless improvements were made to the heating element and wire. We also had trouble with the GE washer at 12 months but that was covered under warranty. Our GE stove has worked fine for several years, but we will no longer be purchasing any GE Washers or dryers. Get another brand or get a long extended warranty!

The worst dryer I've ever owned in my lifetime

Jennywasko 5/23/2025

The dryer that we gave to the delivery people that was 10 years old did a much better job than this brand new dryer. I do not understand any good reviews on this horrible product. First, I bought it from Lowe's and didn't even really get a chance to use it until it was installed a couple days and it was time to wash my sheets. First. I washed the sheets alone and put them in the dryer. They just turned into a big football and stayed wet after an hour and 30 minutes cycle. None of the presets cycles will dry anything at all so you have no choice but to use time dry Then I had a lightweight, super lightweight, linen blanket that I dried alone. It turned into one big ball of wetness. I put it through three cycles of an hour and 30 minutes and it was still wet. Tried to return it on the 4th day but Lowe's wouldn't take it because they have a 3-day return window lol. Ge came out and said my thermistor was bad. A few weeks later they replaced that but the problem persisted. I called GE customer service and they said they couldn't find anything else wrong with it. The lady on the phone actually told me that she's not aware of any dryer that can dry sheets. She said that's just the way dryers are made and that you cannot dry two sheets together lol. Honestly you can't even drive one sheet because I've tried that also. Ge says they are unaware of any dryer that can dry a set of sheets by themselves or a lightweight blanket. They said they can't fix the problem because there is no problem. I guess I have to invest in a clothesline and just not to wash sheets at home for the duration of the time that I have this horrible dryer. Ron. Don't do it. This is the biggest waste of money of my life and the worst dryer I've ever owned. In fact, I deeply wish that I had kept my old one which worked 10 times better. I thought I was upgrading but that was absolutely a mistake. I still cannot get over it that GE told me they're not aware of any dryer that will successfully dry a set of sheets. Unbelievable. They wouldn't even let me exchange it for something better that works.

Timer Knob Problem

JCS23 4/20/2025

The Timer Knob cannot be used to set dryer cycle. The knob has been difficult to turn since receiving the dryer. Finally, the knob evidently broke/stripped connection and would turn easily; however, it was not turning the actual dryer control. I had to attach a locking plyer tool to set the control for use. This was done with the knob removed. The dryer does well with drying clothes, etc. This is the reason for the positive marks (3).

TERRIBLE-BROKEN 2 months after year warranty

ephillips 4/18/2025

We bought this dryer 14 months ago. The dryer completely stopped heating exactly 2 months after the 12 month warranty. We just had a repairman come out and tell us that the heating element and the timer are both broken and it will cost us more to fix it than to buy a new dryer. $600 plus spent basically a year ago and now we have to buy a brand new dryer. I've looked at other reviews and this is a common problem, so I'm wondering why GE isn't rectifying so close to the 12 month mark for this product.
