This is the second one of these we bought. When we moved into our home 14 years after about 2 years the main burner would go right to power boil no matter where the temperature was set. We replaced it with the same unit. The cook top started doing the same thing again about 6 months with again the main burner going right to power boil no matter where the temperature was set. I would not have bought this product again, but we could not find another stove top to fit into the opening on our counter without major renovations, so we reluctantly bought the same stove top again.

I ordered a new stove top. The first stove top REPLACEMENT I ordered wouldn't fit my countertop because it was a different brand. The BSS installer got very angry, and refused to make the countertop adjustments. He remarked, "the countertop wasn't deep enough." So, I ordered a GE reordered a replacement top, the exact same model as the one that was damaged. Several weeks of arguing with BSS installations, my Second New stove top I ordered was the exact model as the damaged one that is presently installed my countertop. BSS informed Lowe's Installation that they (BSS) refuse to install my stove top, because I was a difficult customer, because they refused to listen when I tried to example to them that I had purchased a second new stove top. Finally, Lowe's Installation had them to send a contractor to my house. I showed him the problem. We solved the problem with no issues. In about 15 minutes, he had the new stove top installed, and wondered why it took so many weeks to install. No new adjustments were needed to my countertop. Getting the new stove top installed took serious stress and too much waste of time, just because BSS would not listen to what I was saying. It is ashame.

I installed this unit and used it twice and I am already terribly disappointed with how easily the glass top disfigures and looks like it is an 10 year old used cooktop. It is the most frustrating top to try and clean after using as well. wipe it, wash it, dry it and it still looks dirty. Not impressed with this top at all and terribly disappointed that it is virtually impossible to find a cooktop without the funky glass top

One of the burners of the brand-new GE 30" (JP3030DWBB) electric cooktop started malfunctioning after just 3 weeks!! The heat regulator doesn't work, just after 3 weeks. We need reliability more than anything else in an appliance. Very unreliable product, very unreliable brand GE.

I have mixed feelings about this purchase. The glass surface is prone to scratches and difficult to clean. I tried using the stove top glass cleaner, but simple spills are still hard to remove.
One major concern is the amp rating. It seems that most home appliances before 2000 have a 30-amp service, while most of the appliances you sell are 40 amps.
On the positive side, the sales agent, Maniah x05293, was excellent. She not only followed up with me but also ensured that the appliance would fit. The installer was timely and made sure that the job was done to my satisfaction. I would definitely purchase more products from her in the future. I can tell that customer satisfaction is a priority for her. She is a very pleasant person to talk to and a good listener.

This was a replacement for an existing GE Profile cooktop that I had that cracked (but did last 13 years). It was easy to install. My previous cooktop did have one burner that was larger than any on the existing but I don™™t consider that a huge issue. It was a good price on sale compared to what I paid for the first one.

I purchased the cooktop, but the installation has been extremely difficult. First, the installation company (Riverstonme Logistics?) refused to change anything in the COI, as required by my building. Then they came to install it without the COI (as previously informed/discussed with GE customer service) and were denied access. My wife had to drive her car to the street and transfer the cooktop to her car's trunk so that it could be brought to my unit. I have been living on this property for 3 years, and this is the first time I have seen a service provider refuse to provide a revised COI to comply with property management requirements. It also surprises me that GE has only one vendor that can dictate how they run the show. They never even tried to talk to the property management to see how they could solve the issue, instead of just a "take it or leave it" approach. I finally decided to contact Best Buy to provide the installation (scheduled for this Friday), and they were flexible and easy to work with.

Installation was easy for my son. This unit replaced an old, 19 years, GE stovetop. Hopefully this new one has similar longevity? Controls are easy to see. Burners stay very hot long past when warning light (s) turn off. Is this a defect? Glad I have stainless pots and pans so they will work on the surface. I will have to warn grand-kids not to go near stovetop even after warning lights turn off! Compatible but with a learning curve and possible burns.

Not happy with the surface. We had our previous cooktop, black, glass, for over 20 years. We used it daily and heavily. It did not have one scratch. We replaced it with this one. From the day we started using it, white marks and streaks began to show up, on burners and off to the side. We don't drag our pots, we are very careful. Don't know why or how the unsightly white marks come from.

I had a G.E. stove top installed on 3-4-25 and the warranty is expiring 3-4-25 and after investigating online here at G.E. website there is no information regarding warranty service. The left front burner light will not shut off but the burner is still, functional. After research it is called a top hot indicator and that I would need to call a technician out to repair it. The stove top is also black and needs cleaning daily to look nice. It was purchased by Lowe's and Lowe's had a third party install it. Lowe's also does not have a warranty service information online either when I go to Lowe's website.

Surface not easily cleaned. Every tiny drop of water, etc etc etc caused by anything performed on the cooktop makes a mark and the cleanup is a constant chasing of said mark.

It fits the cutout and works like my previous GE cook top that I had for 20 years. It is not as easy to clean as my previous GE glass cook top. Always have to use glass cook top cleaner instead of simple glass cleaner. Not sure why this is the case.

Product very well packaged that prevents any product damage. Easy installation. Instructions very well explained. A sleek look even with the control knobs all in black. Knobs come off for easy cleaning. The 4 burners have the right amount and controls for cooking. The price that we paid was very well below what we imagined it would be replacing the GE what we had. Our first GE cook top was placed in our home in 2007 and lasted for 18 years before getting this new one.

Won™™t deal with GE again. I purchased a unit like this a few months ago and inspected it for physical damage when it arrived ™" everything looked fine. I installed it two weeks later, only to discover it had a manufacturing defect. GE rejected the replacement request because of their 24-hour return policy (which is why I was told to inspect it immediately upon delivery).
Customer service promised it would be repaired. Now, 59 days later, after four technician visits and about seven hours on the phone with customer service (no, I™™m not exaggerating), it is still not repaired. And today, after another 24 minutes on the phone with GE, they scheduled yet another tech visit for next week.
When I asked, ™How many service visits or how long a wait qualifies this appliance as unrepairable and eligible for replacement?™ ™" no one could give me even a vague answer.
This is far too much hassle for a brand-new appliance, in my opinion.

Carlo and his team were fantastic! A map was available on text messaging so that I knew when they would be here. Also, very knowledgeable about measuring, electrical, and all other aspects of installation. The unit is beautiful. The surface is a perfect match for my other appliances. The burners are well positioned for large and small pots/pans. The controls are well positioned for each burner., easy to tell which knob controls which burner. The power is outstanding because there are two fast boil settings/burners and a burner that can be set to warm. This model has a ™box™™ that shows when burners are hot which I think is a wonderful safety feature. I™™ve already used the cooktop and it worked great.

Worst product to have. I owned it for 6 months and 5 months with issue on burner control. GE replaced with brand new which has the same issue. Its product trust issue. I have been owning other brand cooktop for 5 years in my old house. Not a single day I had issue and that speaks for itself on product quality.
I regret choosing GE.

I would never buy this cooktop again. It is junk . I will be replacing it as soon as I'm able. It's impossible to keep it from looking smeared unless you wipe it with multiple cleaners and it is slow to heat. Don't buy it.

Totally impossible to clean. Using, of course, the proper product and tool, my brand new cooktop looks worse than 25-year old (GE) that I would love to have back even though only 3 burners worked. I tried to use the razor blade tool that came with the old one and worked very well. Even though I was very gentle, I have 2 scratches on my new cooktop as well as stains I cannot remove Whoever designed this should be fired.

The cooktop is fine - your standard knob controlled glass cooktop. However, there was an energy usage sticker applied to the cooktop that was absurdly difficult to remove. It left a sticky glue residue that would only come off after using some solvent (lighter fluid) and a lot of rubbing. After that there was an outline of where the sticker had been on the glass that was only removed after using cooktop cleaning creme. C'mon GE, you can do better than this.
