Total dissatisfaction with lg refrigerator

Disastrous experience with this fridge. Blew 2 compressors in 5 years. Each time it left us in a bind without referigeration until fixed. average time was 3 weeks to fix. Second compressor failure only parts were covered so labor cost 1000 dollars at that point sunk costs were too great and had to buy a brand new one. My family is through with lg.

Overall we really like our LG refrigerator. Its attractive sturdy and roomy. It was recently repaired under the $400 flat rate service and the compressor was replaced by a LG technician. I highly recommend that service.

I bought my LG refrigerator in 2018 and the compressor literally gave out. The fridge was barely 6 years old and a compressor should last 8-10 years. I have to pay close to $400 to get it fixed. It was very disappointing

Freezer Broken Out of Nowhere

Similar to what Im seeing on these threads we havent had ours for too long and suddenly the freezer broke and the main fridge is mildly warm. Bye bye to the breastmilk we had in there for our 6mo.

Ridiculous. I have the LDCS24223S/02. Have had it just over 5 years. Like a month past 5 year mark. Went to get a drink and everything warm. Look up reviews to find TONS of people have the same problems. Really sad that this has happened to so many people I usually stick with brands that last and I will not be buying another LG product

Where do I begin...If I could rate you guys a 0.5 I would. Ive never worked with a more disorganized company in my life. Its been almost a month of you guys trying to fix my refrigerator and I still have been getting the runaround with someone coming out. Someone came out fixed it said wait 24 hours for it to cool. I did and it wasnt working still. So he came back almost a week later and said Ooops theres an evaporator issue too - Im going to need to order parts. Then almost 5 days later the part comes in on 08/19. He said he cant come till Wednesday when hes scheduled then said he could come next day. He didnt come so I called him. He said he needed another part and would be there in the morning on 08/21 the day he was scheduled anyway. He didnt come nor did he call and so I called customer service. She said shed tell him right away and hed call me. He didnt call me within 2 hours so I called him. He answered and said he never received a text or any message from customer service and that he had been reassigned. So I called customer service again asked for a manager 3rd time I had to do this and the manager spent 40 min on the phone with me basically saying All I can do is shoot an email to the Service Managers and maybe theyll get back to you within 48 hours. I said can you please call them because this is getting out of hand - its been almost a month. He said he isnt allowed to call them. I then asked What if nobody calls me back within 48 hours? He said you call us after 5pm on Friday. I said...Do your technicians work after 5pm on Fridays. He said maybe maybe not. WHAT? So I said...Well then why should I wait till after 5pm so that you guys can just tell me sorry and someone will come next week? Isnt that what will probably happen and then well be back in this endless cycle. He said Good point maybe call in the morning then. WHAT? Why am I providing you the manager with advice on how to handle a situation with an escalated client. This company is trained to pass the buck put you on hold claim someone will follow up then act confused as if theyve done nothing wrong when nobody follows up and its just this endless cycle of insanity. I have wasted SO MUCH TIME with these people. Ive spent just about 10 hours on the phone with these people over the course of 3 weeks - customer service managers the technician waiting on hold. They always have me provide a reference number and they always make me re-explain EVERYTHING so I ask them Why do you have a reference number if you guy arent taking notes on the situation? They had no response for that obviously and basically made up excuses for why. They said they do have a reference number with all the information. I said So why am I reexplaining everything every time I call back? Again they had no answer for this. Im not a Karen. I never leave reviews like this ever. Im a very patient understanding person. But jeeeeeeeeeez louise. This has been the absolute worst experience Ive ever had with a company - ever. The customer service agents are nice but unfortunately they really have zero power to do anything except say Okay I understand Im taking notes and someone else should be contacting you. But nobody does... And nobody knows anything thats going on. How is that possible? They operate as if the internet and iphone doesnt exist anymore. At this point I feel like someone at LG used to date me or something and every time they see my number theyre like Hey its him again - lets all put him on speaker and listen to how annoyed he gets as we pass him around to each other. Ive never had a worst experience talking to a company in my life. I am so passionate about LG being a bad company that if I were in a Home Depot and randomly saw someone buying an LG Id say dont buy that - you can have my LG fridge at home and Ill buy a new one. Save yourself the time and headache. I decided to have LG do my repair because the cost was way less than hiring someone outside $450 vs $1000. Man was I wrong to make a decision based on a $500 difference. If I could go back in time I wouldve paid $2000 for a new fridge from a new company over dealing with this ridiculous incompetence. LG is awful

I purchased this refrigerator in 2019 because I loved the setup with the lower freezer. The compressor just died. I was not aware until now that I could not just call a repairman. No I had to call LG and they gave me the number of a repair company that they contract with in my area. Then I was told the part would take 5-7 business days to acquire. On the 7th day I followed up with the contracted repair company and received notification that my part had JUST been ordered. Im going on my 3rd week living out of coolers now. I lost almost everything in my fridge and freezer. The repair company has not communicated with me at all and LG has given no notice that my part has even shipped. Dont do it. Do not buy an LG product. Im certainly never going to buy any LG product ever again.

Super disappointed

I bought this refrigerator in November 2018 and it has already stopped working. It happened about two weeks agoThe temperature is stuck around 50 degrees and all the food in my freezer went bad. I cant believe that its no longer functional and it hasnt even been six years. Ive had a serviceman in and he cleaned all the equipment in the back and underneath and tested it for various things including freon but none of that fixed the problem.

The compressor died in 5 years and LG refused to honor the valid warranty. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. They even sent a form asking me to review the fridge after refusing to honor the warranty. Please google LG refrigerator compressor lawsuits before any purchase. I wish I had before buying this appliance.

I was concerned about moisture on the outside of the bottom freezer due to do not have the ice maker hooked up the rep advised me that needed to adjust the food in the bottom so that the air like circulates. Was happy all was good.

I bought this refrigerator back in 2018 about 6 years ago. I have a smaller space between cabinets so I needed a smaller than standard fridge and this one fit the bill. Here are some reasons to get this refrigerator it has the largest interior capacity of all the others of this size it is very pretty after 6 years it still looks new the large door storage configuration holds a ton of items the controls do not hang down from the fridge ceiling they are in the refrigerator case so that gives more space the bottom freezer is smooth and spacious. On the downside I had to get a new compressor and refrigerant coils because they failed but I used LGs service and for $499 they included all parts and labor. It was a flat fee service. The repairman was great

Compressor went after 5.5 years. All frozen food had to be thrown out. Thank God that I had another refrigerator I could use in the meantime. Since it was out of warranty I paid $516 for a flat rate plan for 90 days.. Tech came out and replaced the compressor. Everything works now.

Had the fridge for 3 years and the compressor went out. They said they would warranty it and then sent out a repairman that knew absolutely nothing about it. I know more about appliances than he does. Its not cooling because the water line isnt hooked up yeah its not hooked up because it took a month to get you out here to fix it so I had to buy a new one. He came out twice and still didnt fix it so I ended up giving up. They say theyll warranty it then make it so difficult you give up. Will not ever buy another LG appliance.

Product lasted 6 years and the cooling for both refrigerator and freezer failed. Wasteful for any modern appliance to fail in under 10 years. I have LG oven and W/D but will never again buy a refrigerator from this brand.

This was supposed to be a life-time purchase. A very nice fridge for $1500 but it only lasted 6 years with very minimal use until the compressor broke. The fee to replace it was very high and the class action lawsuit against LG was 5 years and I missed it by a year. So I guess I got unlucky. I will not be buying another LG appliance ever again.

6 years and the compressor went out. LG has a 10 year warranty on the compressor so the sent out a new compressor to your service tech. All we had to pay for was the installation and service call. Cost about $400.00 - cheaper than a new refrigurator.

Love way it looks in kitchen. Easy to clean the front thought it would be hard. It is always cold when full or partway. It does sound different than my old one. The ice maker stopped working out of warranty new part $220. Not happy about that.

Expensive Compressor Failure

My three year old LG refrigerator had the compressor fail leaving us over a week without refrigeration. It seems these compressors are a weak point in these units and they are very expensive to replace. LG has a 5 year warranty on this unit so it was no cost to me to replace. The bad part is being without a refrigerator for a week or more until a repair tech could be scheduled.

Compressor Vibrates And Creates Too Much Noise

The freezer and refrigerator compartments both maintain the set temperatures very well. I like having the bottom freezer. The unit is very spacious with plenty of room for my needs. The ice maker works well although it can be very noisy especially when dumping ice. BUT the unit has a vibration and noise problem. It vibrates and makes noise when the compressor is running to the extent you can hear it from other rooms in the house well away from the kitchen. It came with glass shelves. If you place beer bottles on the top shelf standing up and organize them neatly along one side of the shelf within a few hours they have started moving toward the center of the shelf. The vibration can also be heard. If two glass bottles or jars start out close to each other eventually they move together and start clinking loudly when the compressor is running.d Its so bad it reminds me of those vibrating football games from decades ago where the player pieces moved across the field based on the vibrations created by the game. I managed to use some rubber hoses strategically wedged between the top of the compressor and the housing to minimize the vibration and I lined the shelves with a translucent plastic shelf liner that helps to quiet things and prevent items from moving. Even with that at least once a day you can hear the unit making noise due to the vibration and I have to gently shake it to stop the noise. Very frustrating. I hate it so much it wont bother me when this unit fails so I can buy something else which wont be an LG unless it comes with a no vibration/noise guarantee.

Never buy LG again Right after 5 year warranty was up it needed a new compressor. 6 months later tge freezer starts frosting up. I cleaned it and now it wont freeze anything Also had an LG front load washer and after 2 years tge drain pump was replaced 3 times The 4th time they finally refunded me the purchase pricestill under 5yr warranty. LG is terrible quality DO NOT BUY

We bought this on the recommendation of Consumer Reports the fact that it fit in our kitchen space. However weve found: cant attach notes to the door with magnets cant place items on top due to the uneven surface the doors wont close easily without a firm push: now the compressor gives off a loud buzzing sound for several seconds every now then.

This is a good product and good value for the price. The only problem has been the ice maker which needs replacement. The only other caution would be to avoid the extended service offering due to the many exceptions that go along with it. Although still in effect the agreement wont cover the ice maker repair since it was not reported within 30 days of trouble starting.

This is the worst piece of crap Ive ever purchased. LG is using a condenser that theyve already been sued over so I had to have that replaced 3 years after I bought this miserable pile of BS. Virtually everything made out of plastic has cracked but thats my fault apparently according to LG. Absolutely the worst piece of garbage ever. Any positive reviews of this thing are fake.

Some issues

We have issues with ice make in bottom freezer. Had 2 different repair people replace the ice maker itself and a connector hose. Still a issue. Ice maker makes ice cubes and drops them in container but freezes into one big block.
